Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 28, 2026

Last updated: May 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Refund Owed, a brand operated by FTT LLC ("Refund Owed," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit refundowed.com (the "Site") or use our refund recovery matching service (the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Site or submitting information to us, you agree to the practices described here.

The most important thing to know: Refund Owed is an independent matching platform. When you submit your information through our Site, we share that information with one or more third-party professionals and recovery specialists in our partner network so they can contact you about potential refund opportunities. This sharing is the core function of our Service, and by submitting your information you consent to it. We may receive compensation from those partners. Details are below.

1. Who We Are

Refund Owed is a trade name (DBA) of FTT LLC, a limited liability company. We operate an online platform that helps small and mid-market business owners identify potential refund and tax-recovery opportunities and connects them with independent, third-party attorneys, customs brokers, accountants, and recovery specialists ("Specialists" or "Partners"). We are not a law firm, accounting firm, customs brokerage, or financial advisory firm, and we do not provide legal, tax, financial, or customs advice.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you complete a form on our Site or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect:

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar usage data, through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. If we run advertising campaigns, advertising platforms (such as Meta or TikTok) may place pixels or tags that collect information about your interaction with our ads and Site, subject to their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

4. How We Share Your Information

With Specialists in our partner network. The primary purpose of our Service is to connect you with third-party professionals. When you submit your information, we share it with one or more Specialists we determine may be a fit for your situation. Those Specialists are independent businesses, are not controlled by us, and will use your information in accordance with their own privacy practices. Once your information is shared with a Specialist, that Specialist becomes an independent controller of your information, and this Privacy Policy no longer governs their use of it.

With service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as form processing, email delivery, hosting, and analytics.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Refund Owed, our users, or others.

In a business transfer. If FTT LLC or the Refund Owed business is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, because we share your information with Specialists who may pay us a marketing or referral fee, certain privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended) may classify this sharing as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You have the right to opt out of this — see "Your Privacy Rights" below.

5. How We Make Money (Material Connection Disclosure)

Specialists in our network may pay Refund Owed a flat marketing or referral fee when we deliver a qualified introduction. We do not take a percentage of any refund you may recover, and our compensation is not contingent on the outcome of any matter you pursue with a Specialist. Our compensation arrangements do not change the price you pay a Specialist and are intended not to affect which Specialist you ultimately choose to work with. You are always free to work with any professional you choose, including professionals not in our network.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some features of the Site may not function properly.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Privacy Rights

All users

You may contact us at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to opt out of further communications from us. We will respond consistent with applicable law. Note that once your information has been shared with a Specialist, you will need to contact that Specialist directly regarding their use of your information.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share; to request deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Residents of certain other states may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of their personal information. We honor these rights as required by applicable state law.

To the extent the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Our legal bases for processing include your consent and our legitimate interests in operating the Service.

10. Your Consent to Be Contacted

By submitting your information through the Site, you expressly consent to be contacted by Refund Owed and by Specialists in our network regarding the recovery opportunities identified for your business, including by email and telephone at the contact details you provide. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us, though doing so will not affect Specialists with whom your information has already been shared.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site and Service are intended for business owners and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

12. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including those of Specialists. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
